Our Story
Creating Victorian United Nations Day of Vesak
The Spirit of Vesak can help animate a global response to the challenges of our day. The Victorian Observance of the United Nations Day of Vesak was created to gather the interconnected Buddhist peoples of Victoria.
Springvale Town Hall
Our Vesak commemoration story as one diverse Victorian Buddhist community began 2008 in the warmth and welcome of the Springvale Town Hall, and the Greater City of Dandenong. With a strong emphasis on sharing merits within the different Buddhist traditions, and a focused goal to commemorate Vesak; our first event was an astounding success shared by some 700 guests.
Melbourne Town Hall
The Annual Victorian United Nations Day of Vesak takes place in the heart of Melbourne at the Melbourne Town Hall. Devout Buddhists and curious Victorians have joined with us for over a decade to share in the merits of Vesak.
Current Operations
VUNDV Inc. is currently undertaking several community driven initiatives. We have a shared vision of bringing the diverse Victorian Buddhist community together and these initiatives are driven by our vision.
